Emily graduated from Virginia Tech in May 2015 with a Bachelor's in Mathematics and in May 2016 with a Master's in Education. Emily served on the Executive Committee for Virginia Tech's Relay For Life for her sophomore and junior years, and was the Director of the event her senior year.
After attending several Relay For Life summits and events, Emily realized that our campus Relay For Life events are some of the strongest, most passionate events. She believes these campus volunteers will lead us to a cancer-free world and she is passionate about keeping them involved in the fight against cancer. Professionally, Emily is a high school mathematics teacher in Fairfax County, Virginia. Emily has been an American Cancer Society volunteer since 2012. Currently, Emily is working on promoting ACS opportunities to young professionals and recruiting campus volunteers to stay involved as young professionals. Emily also handles the day-to-day operations of the ACS Young Professionals organization.
University of Illinois at Urbana-CHampaign, '15
Kyle graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2015 with degrees in Psychology and Communication, where he was heavily involved with Colleges Against Cancer and Relay For Life. He currently serves on the American Cancer Society's Community Events Council in Chicago and volunteers as an Area Lead for Relay For Life.
Kyle has served in volunteer positions at all levels of the organization, and continues to be engaged on the local, divisional, and national levels. Professionally, Kyle currently works in Human Resources at a global media intelligence software company in Chicago, IL. Kyle has been a volunteer with the American Cancer Society since 2008 and his focus area for the ACS Young Professionals organization is innovation, recruitment, maintenance, and support.
